MDI Napier has its roots in
The Napier Co. (Arbroath) Ltd. This
respected naval architecture consultancy needs no introduction to many in the
marine industry, having, since its inception in 1969, created and maintained
a reputation for expert design and the highest standard of marine
consultancy. Napier boats are known worldwide for their robust stability and
excellent trimming characteristics, and for a closely tailored design
philosophy which means they fit their role and operating environment like a
glove, while retaining all the adaptability of their off-the-peg competitors.
Other distinguishing features of the Napier design philosophy are attention
to detail and extensive research into the operating environment, methods,
challenges and background of each individual project.
MDI Napier became part of
Marine Design International in 2005, together with McCaig Watson and Simon
Cormack Naval Architecture. The Napier design philosophy is one of the key
elements in our Total Design approach, and we remain the only authorised
